A local junior lacrosse scoring star has been chosen to wear Canada?s colours.
Reegan Comeault, who led the Langley Jr. Thunder, survived the final round of cuts and was named to the Canadian under 19 men?s field lacrosse team.
The squad will play at the 2012 FIL (Federation of International) world championships in Turku, Finland in July.
Fifty players took part in the most recent selection camp with 24 making the roster.
The final selection camp was held Nov. 25-27 in Oshawa, Ont.
Comeault has played the past two seasons with the Jr. Thunder in the B.C. Junior Lacrosse League, scoring 70 goals and 162 points in just 41 games.
Comeault was the first overall pick in the 2009 midget draft, selected from the Ridge Meadows minor lacrosse association.
He was the league?s most valuable player last season, helping Langley reach the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
He joins the Ohio State Buckeyes in the fall on a field lacrosse scholarship and still has two years of junior eligibility remaining with Langley.
